Monsoon 2022: Due to the monsoon rains these days, people’s problems have increased in many areas of the country. In Maharashtra and Gujarat, it has started proving fatal. So far more than 150 people have lost their lives in both states.
More than 80 people have lost their lives in Maharashtra since June due to heavy rains. At the same time, more than 70 people have lost their lives in Gujarat so far.
According to the Meteorological Department, at present, there is no hope of relief from rain for both states.
So far 83 people have died and 64 people have been injured due to floods in Maharashtra. So far 5873 people have been shifted to safer places and 35 relief camps have been set up.
The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert in Mumbai, Palghar, Nashik, Pune till June 14. Meanwhile, there is a red alert in Raigad till today. Orange alert will continue in Mumbai for the next three days. Schools in Gadchiroli have also been closed for three days from today due to red alert.
Heavy rains have also caused havoc in Gujarat. So far more than 70 people have died due to floods and rains in the state. The Meteorological Department has said that heavy rains will continue in the state for the next 5 days. The Poorna river is in full spate in the state.
After heavy rains in Valsad, the water level of Auranga river has also increased. Rain continues to wreak havoc in Ahmedabad as well. Water has entered people’s homes here. Red alert has been issued in many districts including Surat.
So far, about 10 thousand people have been sent to safer places in the state.
Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel is constantly monitoring the flood affected areas. He has also done an aerial survey of the flood affected areas. During his aerial survey, he also took stock of the flood affected areas of Bodeli.
