Monsoon 2021: Railway tracks submerged in Mumbai due to heavy rain, alert issued for 5 days

Mumbai: The Monsoon arrived in the country’s financial capital Mumbai today. It has been raining in Mumbai and other parts of Maharashtra since morning.

Roads in many cities of Maharashtra, including Thane, are inundated with water due to heavy rains. Railway tracks have been submerged in heavy rain water. The movement of trains is difficult due to submergence of tracks in the water. In such a situation, local railway service has been stopped in Mumbai.

Meanwhile, due to the filling of rain water on the Eastern Express Highway of Mumbai, there is a long queue and jam of vehicles on the roads. The Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert of heavy rain in Mumbai and its adjoining areas for the next 48 hours. At the same time, the Meteorological Department has issued an alert in Maharashtra for the next five days.

Railway issues alert

Due to heavy rains in Mumbai, the railway tracks have been flooded. Rain water has accumulated on the track of Sion station of Central Railway. In view of the forecast of heavy rains in the future, the Railways has asked all relief trains and employees to be on alert. Explain that due to heavy rains, an alert has been issued by the Railways to deal with waterlogging on the track and to run the local service smoothly.

Pre-monsoon rains in many parts of Madhya Pradesh and Bihar

Meanwhile, pre-monsoon rains are continuing in many parts of Madhya Pradesh and Bihar. It is raining in Bhopal, Indore, Shajapur, Mandsaur, Dewas, Sagar and Jabalpur, the capital of Madhya Pradesh. It has been raining continuously in Indore for the last four-five days.

Due to the rain, there is a water logging situation in the low-lying areas Mumbai. At the same time, it is raining intermittently in Bhopal since Tuesday evening. However, the Meteorological Department said that by next week the monsoon will reach here too.

According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), Bihar is receiving pre-monsoon rains. Monsoon will reach here after June 12. It has been raining in many districts of North Bihar since Wednesday morning. At the same time, it is raining in Dhanbad district of Jharkhand. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert in 13 states.

Rain may occur in 15 districts of UP

The weather pattern has changed in many districts of Uttar Pradesh. Light rain occurred in the early morning in many districts of Purvanchal bordering Bihar. It is estimated that the extent of this change can be seen in many districts of Purvanchal and Madhya Uttar Pradesh by afternoon. 

There is a possibility of rain in the next few hours in about 15 districts of the state. It is estimated that in these districts strong gusts of wind with a speed of about 40 km per hour can be made. There is also a possibility of lightning at some places. However, the Meteorological Department has not issued any warning at this time. 

The districts where rain is likely are Gorakhpur, Basti, Maharajganj, Sant Kabirnagar, Siddharthnagar, Deoria, Mau, Ballia, Azamgarh, Ghazipur, Chandauli, Varanasi, Mirzapur, Jaunpur, Sonbhadra, Lakhimpur Kheri, Bahraich, Shravastami, Barabanki, Gonda, Ayodhya, Ambedkarnagar and Sultanpur.
