Mirzapur fame Vikrant Massey turns 34, have a brief look at his television journey

New Delhi: Mirzapur actor Vikrant Massey is celebrating his 34th birthday today. Vikrant has become a household name because of his role in hit crime series Mirzapur, Criminal Justice and other short films. He has been successful in making a connection with the audience by playing roles that appeal to the common man and his boy-next-door persona adds to the effect. He is a truly versatile actor not only because of his acting skills but also because of his dedication towards his passion. Vikrant’s professional life has been full of ups and downs. To reach the place where the actor is today, he has done great hard work.  Today, on his special day, we will tell you about his television journey.

Vikrant started his career with Colors’ popular serial Balika Vadhu and has also featured in TV serials like Dharam Veer, Baba Aiso Var Khojo, and Qabool Hai. In popular TV serial Balika Vadhu (2009), which spoke about child marriage and female infanticide, in many ways, was path-breaking for Indian television. Vikrant played Shyam, whose unwavering devotion and true love allowed him to defy societal norms and marry the girl he loves, a widow. Massey as Shyam brought a raw intensity to his role, with a strong conviction yet playfulness to fight the conservative society.

Another TV show namely Baba Aiso Var Dhoondo, Vikrant played the lead role. The Indian soap saw him play the husband to a woman suffering from dwarfism. Started in 2010, the show went on for two years and won accolades for both the lead actors. In Dharam-Veer, Vikrant essayed the role of Prince Dharam. His chemistry with the other lead Veer, played by Rajat Tokas, was well appreciated. The show ran for nearly 200 episodes in the year 2008. In Qubool Hai,  Vikrant played the younger step-brother to the lead actor of the show, Karan Singh Grover. His portrayal of Ayaan, an impulsive guy, won him praise.

Earlier, Vikrant tested positive for COVID-19. The actor is under self-quarantine. Vikrant took to Instagram to post the update. On the work front, Vikrant has several films in his kitty. Vikrant will be seen in Haseen Dilruba in which he will be starred opposite Taapsee Pannu. The film is being helmed by Vinil Mathew. He also wrapped up the shoot of his forthcoming film Mumbaikar in which he will share the screen space with Vijay Sethupathi, Sanjay Mishra, Tanya Maniktala, and Ranvir Shorey, among others. The film is directed by Santosh Sivan. The film is the remake of the Tamil film Maanagaram.
