Patna: Bihar was jolted by a mild earthquake on Monday night. At around 9:23 pm, strong tremors were reported across many districts of the eastern state.
The earthquake registered a magnitude of 3.5 on the Richter scale. According to the National Center for Seismology, the epicentre of the earthquake was 20 km north-west of Nalanda.
In Patna, a large number of people came out of their homes and stood on the streets as buildings shook due to the strong earthquake. A large number of people came out of their offices.
People of Patna’s Boring Road, Rajiv Nagar, Indrapuri, Beur, Phulwari Sharif, Sipara, Junction and AIIMS areas felt the tremors. As soon as people got information about the earthquake, they started calling each other. In many areas, people came out onto the streets in fear.
