Manthan 2021 Punjab: Like Delhi, Congress to suffer same fate in Punjab polls, says AAP’s Bhagwant Mann

Chandigarh: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Bhagwant Mann on Thursday heralded ‘Mission Punjab’ while participating in the News24’s Punjab Conclave, ‘Manthan 2021’.

He said that AAP was relatively a very young party and was still in “construction mode”.

“AAP started its ‘Mission Punjab’ in 2014… Our party is (only) 6-7 years old and is in construction mode,” Mann said.

When asked about AAP leaders abandoning the party just ahead of Punjab elections, Mann said, “The organisation is big, not the person. Doesn’t matter if 5-7 people have left the party (AAP), many more will come and join.”

He added, “What AAP has done in Delhi, under the leadership of Arvind Kejriwal, we will take the Delhi model to the people of Punjab. Unlike the fake model of Gujarat, we are taking the right model of Delhi to people… Whatever has happened in Delhi can be seen by everyone.”

While he cited the BJP organisation to emphasise that the party is bigger than the individual, he went on to target the Congress claiming that the grand old party will not be able to open its account in Punjab in the upcoming polls.

“Congress is national party founded in 1885, but look at its plight in the national capital. In Assembly as well as Lok Sabha polls they scored a ‘zero’… They don’t seem to have suffered any loss, they have maintained their position. They will face the same fate in Punjab (in upcoming Assembly polls),” he said.
