Man mesmerises king cobra with footwork, captures it: Watch

New Delhi: King Cobras, one of the most venomous snakes in the world, are also some of the longest reptiles. It is not easy to capture a king cobra. However, a new viral video has proved otherwise.

In a new viral video shared on social media by IFS Susanta Nanda, a man in uniform can be seen trying to capture a king cobra in an innovative manner.

The video shows the man, with his hands on his hips, distracting the king cobra before pushing its hood slowly down on the ground wrestling it into submission. Nanda captioned the video, “Even that snake was awestruck with the smart drill of the man in uniform…(But don’t try this if you are not trained).”

While one person is seen shooting the video, another person can be seen standing beside him, possibly to offer any assistance if needed.

Usually king cobras avoid confrontation with humans wherever possible and shy away from localities.

The video must have been shot within a jungle or any location where the hooded serpent had reached unwittingly.

The king cobra is India’s national reptile and has a eminent position in Hindu mythology and folk traditions, having a prominent position in legends. The species has been listed as Vulnerable on the IUCN Red list and is threatened by habitat destruction.
