Mahashivratri 2022: Mahashivratri is the day of worship of Lord Shiva. According to religious belief, Lord Shiva married Goddess Parvati on this day. It is celebrated on the Chaturdashi of the Krishna Paksha of Phalgun month. 

This year, on Mahashivratri, an auspicious coincidence is taking place. It is believed that worship of Lord Shiva this Mahashivratri will give special benefits. The recitation of Shiva Purana on this day can make Lord Shiva God happy.

As per popular belief, the Shiva Purana recitation is beneficial for the attainment of children. Though it is important to keep certain things in mind during recitation. Here are some precautions that should be observed during the recitation. 

Precautions To Take While Reciting Shiva Purana 

– There is a religious belief that it is necessary to purify the mind and body for reciting or listening to Shiva Purana. After bathing, wear clean clothes and have true reverence for Shiva. Don’t have hatred against anyone.  

– There is a belief that condemning or slandering someone during the course of the text does not give the full benefit of the text. During this time, eat pure and satvik food only. 

– During this time the consumption of tamasic substances is prohibited. It is believed that during Shiva Purana one should avoid any sinful deeds. Also, take care not to hurt anyone’s heart. 

Desire For Children May Get Fulfilled

In the texts, the Shiva Purana is considered to be sacred scripture. The glory of Shiva ji is described very well in it. It is believed that by reciting or listening to it, all the wishes of the seeker are fulfilled. At the same time, the wish of seekers who desire to have children is also fulfilled. Shiva Purana is also recited to remove the sufferings in marital life. By this, all the sinful deeds of life are destroyed and salvation is attained.
