Maharashtra: Curfew till March 1 in Amravati, ban on essential goods shops

Mumbai: The administration has become very strict on the increasing cases of coronavirus in Maharashtra. In Amravati district, the administration has announced a curfew from 8 pm on February 22 to March 1. The curfew will end on March 1 at 6 am.

During this curfew, there will be extreme strictness and restrictions will also be applicable on shops selling essential goods. Shops selling essential items like ration, vegetables, fruits and milk will also open from 8 am to 3 pm.

In important cities like Pune, Nagpur and Mumbai, Corona is once again raising its head. Concerned over the rapidly growing corona cases, the state government may take a decision to impose lockdown once again. 

CM Uddhav Thackeray has said that the next 8 days are going to be important. If people do not stop negligence and the cases of corona continue to increase, then the decision of lockdown may have to be taken. The Union Health Ministry has also raised concerns about the increasing cases of corona in states like Maharashtra and Kerala. Apart from these two states, states like Madhya Pradesh and Punjab also remain cause for concern.

Meanwhile, the Maharashtra government has announced a ban on any kind of gathering in the state. The mobilization in political, religious and social events in the state has been banned until further orders. Uddhav Thackeray said on Monday that whether the second wave of coronavirus has come in the state or not, it will clear in two weeks.

Uddhav Thackeray said on Sunday that the fight against coronavirus disease is similar to World War One and that masks are an effective shield against infection.
