NEW DELHI (DIVYA SAINI): Smoking is the biggest cause of lung cancer. The chemicals of cigarettes enter our bloodstream when you smoke and can affect the entire body, that’s why smoking causes not only lung cancer but various types of cancer.

Many people are addicted to smoking even after knowing its effects. Quitting smoking completely is the best thing you can do for your health as it has many disadvantages for your body.

However, our body has the healing power to deal with the damage, but they can’t cope heal the effects the harmful chemicals in tobacco smoke have caused.

Cancer is caused when the harmful chemicals of cigarettes get absorbed by your cells and these cells start spreading in the other parts of the body and stops the functioning of the organs, which later causes many diseases and skin issues.

What types of cancer are caused due to smoking?

Smoking can cause different t types of cancer including mouth, pharynx (upper throat), nose and sinuses, larynx (voice box), esophagus (food pipe), liver, pancreas, stomach, kidney, bowel, ovary, bladder, cervix, blood, as well as skin cancer.

Smoking is not only the cause of cancer but it can cause many diseases like heart disease, lung diseases, skin problems, impure blood etc.

What is the risk of cancer from smoking?

Smoking doesn’t cause cancer immediately but if you continue smoking for quite so long it can increase the risk of diseases more strongly.

So, it’s never too late to stop. All you need is proper guidance and medications to treat your addiction to smoking.

Tip: the first step to quitting smoking is to reduce the number of cigarettes you smoke a day. It will also decrease the risk of cancer by some percent.
