Kia to prepare new MPV in India, image goes viral on internet

South Korean automaker Kia sells Seltos, Sonet and Carnival in the Indian market. Kia is currently building a 7-seater MPV based on the same platform as the Seltos.

The test mules have been seen on several occasions in recent times. The SUV is currently codenamed KY, and the MPV will make its global debut on 16 December 2021, which is expected to launch in India early next year.

According to media reports, this MPV is likely to be named as Carens, which will be positioned below the Carnival. 

The MPV, which is currently under testing, will get an all-LED elimination on the exterior which will include LED headlamps (reflector type), fog lamps, taillamps.

Only the top variant of the Kia Carence will come with LED headlight. At the same time, other features of the vehicle will also include front parking sensors, 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Which will be enabled with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and Kia’s UVO Connected Car technology.

 The software powering its touchscreen system is believed to be more advanced than the current Kia cars in India.

Other features will include Bose audio system, one-touch cruise, valet mode, rain-sensing wipers, and ventilated front seats for both driver and passenger. 

Apart from this, Kia will also offer ambient lighting around the dashboard, center console, and front and rear door inserts.

Though the layout of the dashboard is yet to be revealed, there will be no physical knobs or buttons. All controls will be in touch style including climate control, infotainment and one-touch on/off cruise control.
