Kerala: Congress vandalizes Joju George’s car, lie that he was drunk

Joju George’s car got trapped in the Vyttila area as the protesters blocked the Edappally-Vytilla highway, news agency PTI reported. George and other commuters urged the protesters to end the agitation as it was causing difficulties for them.

Kerala: Windshield of Mollywood actor Joju George’s car was broken during a protest by Congress against rising fuel prices at NH-47 in Kochi after he objected to the roadblock. “I’m not a member of any party but it affects our daily lives. Don’t repeat this condition,” the actor said.

Joju George’s car got trapped in the Vyttila area as the protesters blocked the Edappally-Vytilla highway, news agency PTI reported. George and other commuters urged the protesters to end the agitation as it was causing difficulties for them.

“Action would be taken against the culprits after examining the video footage of the incidents. No written permission was sought for the agitation but there was enough police deployment after coming to know about the protest through the media,” PTI quoted a police officer as saying.

Joju George and Congress workers were seen indulged in a clash with Congress member allegedly tampering his car. In their defense, the Congress worker alleged that the actor was in an inebriated state and “misbehaved” with the women workers of the party.

He also said that they would file a complaint with the police and alleged that Joju was drunk and broke the glass of the vehicle himself. Joju George, along with police, went for a blood test and it was proved that he was not drunk. He himself asked for a blood test to prove that he was not wrong, reports said.

“What I just did was that I told the protesters there that what they were doing was not right. I was not talking to any political party. But I was just talking to people who caused a roadblock there. The major leaders there abused my father and mother by calling me names. My reaction was my protest against those who blocked the road,” Joju was quoted as saying by an entertainment portal.

The police, meanwhile, said that the Congress did not take permission to conduct a protest by blocking the road.
