Karachi: Several killed as militants storm Pakistan Stock Exchange … Watch Video

Karachi: A gun and grenade assault on the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) in Karachi on Monday claimed the lives of a number of civilians and safety forces personnel, authorities stated, including that legislation enforcement companies have gunned down all 4 militants that stormed the constructing and opened indiscriminate hearth.

Polcie stated militants launched a grenade assault on the fundamental gate of the PSX and stormed the constructing after firing indiscriminately, Geo News reported.

A police officer and the safety guard stationed outdoors the PSX constructing had been additionally injured within the assault.

People contained in the PSX constructing had been evacuated from the backdoor.

Confirming the assault in a tweet, PSX Director, Abid Ali Habib stated: “An unlucky incident befell on the Pakistan Stock Exchange.

“They (terrorists) made their means from our parking space and opened hearth on everybody.”

Speaking to Geo TV, the Inspector-General Karachi stated that the state of affairs was below management and all militants had been killed within the assault.

He stated that Rangers and police officers had entered the constructing and had been conducting a search operation.

Sindh Governor Imran Ismail condemned the incident, saying: “Strongly condemn the attack on PSX aimed at tarnishing our relentless war on terror. Have instructed the IG & security agencies to ensure that the perpetrators are caught alive & their handlers are accorded exemplary punishments.”

The PSX is situated on the coronary heart of Karachi’s enterprise centre. Important buildings like that of the State Bank of Pakistan is situated close to it.
