Kangana Ranaut reveals her ‘Sikh’ name in ‘Tejas’

Mumbai: Three times National Award winner Kangana Ranaut on Saturday revealed the name of her character in her upcoming film Tejas- ‘Tejas Gill’. The ‘Manikarnika’ actor is playing the titular role in the film. It was in 2016 when IAF allowed their women officers to join combat roles. Tejas is inspired by the landmark event.

Taking to her Twitter handle, the ‘Queen’ actress shared an image of the camouflage-print T-shirt with a tag of ‘Tejas Gill and the blood group B positive.’ Expressing her feelings on seeing the name of her character in the film ‘Tejas’ in front of her, the Kangana said, “Playing a Sikh soldier in Tejas. I never knew until I read my character’s full name on my uniform today. I had an instant smile on my face. Our longings and love have a way of manifesting. The universe speaks to us in more ways than we understand (added a heart emoticon).”

 

In February 2020, Actress took to Instagram to share the first poster of Tejas. In the photo, Kangana is seen walking in style wearing IAF uniform with a fighter plane in the backdrop.

Tejas is bankrolled by Ronnie Screwvala’s RSVP. The film marks the directorial debut of Sarvesh Mewara. This movie will instill a sense of patriotism and pride in the youth community. Besides ‘Tejas’,  Kangana will be seen in ‘Thalaivi’, a biopic on actor-turned-politician Jayalalithaa.

Apart from this she also has ‘Dhaakad’ and ‘Manikarnika Returns’ The Legend Of Didda’ in the pipeline. Kangana has also signed up to play the role of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in an upcoming political drama.
