Srinagar: An soldier of the Indian Army was martyred on Sunday after Pakistan resorted to a ceasefire violation at the Line of Control (LoC) in the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir.
The ceasefire violation took place in the Nowshera sector, the Indian Army said, adding that troops responded strongly to the enemy fire.
In the incident, Naib Subedar Rajwinder Singh was critically injured and later died.
“Pakistan Army resorted to an unprovoked ceasefire violation on LoC in Nowshera, Rajouri district, J&K. Naib Subedar Rajwinder Singh was critically injured in the incident and later succumbed to his injuries,” Indian Army spokesman Lt Colonel Devender Anand said in a statement.
