Mumbai: Deepak Hooda has come to the rescue of the Lucknow Supergiants right at the time of most need. He has done exactly what LSG needed at this point after losing three early wickets cheaply.
Former cricketer Irfan Pathan hailed the skills of Deepak on Twitter and said he is learning to play under pressure.
“Deepak Hooda is making a habit playing some good innings under pressure,” wrote Pathan on Twitter.
Hooda hit half-century to shoulder his side in the need of the hour. His partnership with skipper KL Rahul is a significant one as the other batters went back to the dressing for a single digit score. LSG is currently at 114 at the loss of 4 wickets after 15.1 overs.
Kane Williamson has won the toss and opted to bowl first against KL Rahul-led Lucknow Supergiants.
“We are gonna have a bowl. We did take the conditions into account, we have seen similarities in number of the early matches and trying to get something from the surface first up and maybe some dew later on. We are playing the same team. It’s good (elbow injury) and nice to be out here playing, looking forward to the game today,” said Williamson after the toss.
