Mumbai: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) started its IPL 2021 campaign against Delhi Capitals (DC) in match 2 on April 10 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
Suresh Raina announced his comeback with a 32-ball fifty, reaching the landmark with a six off Avesh Khan. Another big over for CSK as they scored 19 runs off the pacer in it. While Curran and Ravindra Jadeja added 51 runs in 27 balls after Avesh Khan cleaned up MS Dhoni for a duck.
After losing early wickets, Moeen Ali and Suresh Raina added 53 runs for the third wicket.
Earlier, Chennai Super Kings have picked Australia left-arm speedster Jason Behrendorff as a replacement for Josh Hazlewood.
The last edition held in the UAE was the first time that the Super Kings failed to qualify for the Playoffs in their 11 seasons, and the MS Dhoni-led team, who have made it to the final on eight occasions.
Shikhar Dhawan will have his eyes set on the boundary ropes against CSK as he is just 9 fours away from becoming the 1st player in the history of the tournament to hit 600 fours. On the other hand, Ajinkya Rahane is 67 runs away from making 4000 runs in the IPL. He’ll be just the 11th batsman to reach this landmark, an excellent achievement to add to his resume.
