Dubai: Delhi capitals will face mighty Mumbai Indians in the season final of Indian Premier League 2020. While Mumbai have established their niche in the cash rich league over the years, Delhi has managed to pave their way to the finals for the first time.
Defending Champions Mumbai Indians’ experience in the game will definitely hold advantage over the Delhi Capitals, however, DC’s positivity can’t be ignored with captain Shreyas Iyer determined to clinch his maiden title.
For Delhi, Shikhar Dhawan has come to rescue time and again and is also in the contention for the Orange Cap with 600 runs. Meanwhile, Mumbai none of Mumbai’s batsmen have failed managed to top 500 run aggregator throughout the season.
Trent Boult, who has been traded by Delhi to Mumbai might turn out to be a key-player against DC as he has the highest wickets in powerplay this season.
“We always wanted him and luckily we got him traded from Delhi and he has not disappointed us. He has bowled well with the new ball and also in the middle and the back-end. He is a great asset to have in the squad and hope he can do it one more time for us,” said Rohit Sharma.
Delhi had a rock solid start in the first half of the league, however their winning streak saw a dip in the second half as they lost four consecutive games.
On the other end of the spectrum, Mumbai had it going their way right from the beginning. Not only they were the first to reach to the playoffs, but also maintained table top position throughout the season.
