#INDvsWI: Suryakumar Yadav given Player of the Series says THIS

Kolkata:  India has marked a blistering series win against West Indies on Sunday after Suryakumar Yadav and Harshal Patel powered it with their bat and balling spell.

Rohit Sharma-led India defeated the visitors in every possible manner on their tour, starting from the ODI series. The hosts clean sweeped the three-match ODI series and entered in the shortest format filled with confidence.

Suryakumar Yadav scored 61 runs off 31 balls in the third game shouldering his side for good runs after the top order failed to score big. In the second game, Yadav put 8 runs on board and 34 not out in the first game was the significant knock of the batter in the series.

“Just wanted to replicate what I did in the first game. Needed someone to stay there after Rohit got out. We had a long chat in the team meeting as to how we are going to react under immense pressure and it was a perfect situation to walk out, play till the end and it worked out really well,” said Surykumar Yadav in post-match presentation.

“I just try to keep things simple in the nets as well. Whenever the situation arises, just stay till the end. Being a little harsh on yourself in the nets, don’t hit every ball wildly. Have some quality, meaningful and purposeful net sessions. That’s it (smile, asked how he simulates match scenarios in the nets). Excited for the next series against Sri Lanka,” he added.
