Kolkata: Ishan Kishan departed after playing 21 balls, gathering 29 runs for the opening partnership of 69 with Rohit Sharma.

The jam-packed audience in one of the greatest cricket stadiums, Eden Gardens, got many moments of cheers when Ishan Kishan hit six fours for India.

Ishan Kishan is followed by Suryakumar Yadav to the dressing room when he was dismissed playing the fourth ball without any run.

India has chosen to bat first in the third T20 International against New Zealand after winning the toss.

Rohit Sharma said that they want to see how the bowlers do when they are to defend a score and thus, they would strike to be ready for the future. 

He said, after the toss, “Pitch looks a little sticky and we want to challenge ourselves as a batting unit. We gotta try various things and this is one of them. We want to put runs on the board and give the new set of bowlers a target to defend”.
