Pawan Mishra, New Delhi: The Indian Army chief awarded a citation on Army Day to a C grade employee of the Indian Railways involved in managing operations after the Pulwama attack in 2019 and the current India-China deadlock.

According to the information, Amresh Kumar Chaudhary heads the control room of the military wing of the railway, known as Mill Rail.

He played an important role in the movement of soldiers. The Railway Group Group employees have been honored for the first time by the Army, especially after the Pulwama attack and the standoff between India and China in Ladakh.

The Rail Mill is an extension of the Traffic Directorate of the Ministry of Railways, headed by an Executive Director (ED) level officer at the Army Headquarters. The rail mill undertakes the overall coordination, strategic planning and execution of railway logistics support to the defense forces during peace and emergency situations.

It also works in close coordination with the Ministry of Defense for railway operations to suit its needs. All these railway operations are managed through a separate control room headed by the Chief Controller.
