India vs Australia: Virender Sehwag unhapy with Virat Kohli’s team selection

Adelaide: In the first T20 match between India and Australia, Team India performed well, beating the hosts by 11 runs.

With this victory, India has also taken a 1-0 lead in the three-match T20 series. KL Rahul (51) and Ravindra Jadeja (44 not out) batted very well, as India posted 161/7 wickets in 20 overs.

In response, the Australian team could only manage 150/7 wickets in 20 overs. Yuzvendra Chahal, who was a concussion substitute in place of Ravindra Jadeja, took three wickets.

Despite the victory in the first T20 match, former star batsman Virender Sehwag looked unhappy with India captain Virat Kohli’s team selection.

Virender Sehwag questioned the exclusion of Shreyas Iyer and said that his T20 form was amazing in the last few series.

Talking to Sony Star Sports, Sehwag said, “If you talk about Shreyas Iyer, his performance in the last T20 series was excellent. Then why did you not include him in the team for this match? Was there any reason for this? I don’t think Shreyas Iyer would have the courage to go and ask why he was not played. I will say one more thing, all the rules are applicable to everyone, except for Virat Kohli, no rules apply to him. Neither his batting order changes, nor is he given a break at the time of poor form. this is wrong.”

The Indian team gave an opportunity to Manish Pandey in this match in place of Shreyas Iyer. But Manish Pandey could not do anything special in the first T20 match and was dismissed for just 2 runs.

Virat Kohli also kept star pacer Jasprit Bumrah out of the Indian team for this match and gave a chance to rookie fast bowler Deepak Chahar.
