IND vs ENG, 3rd ODI: England win toss, opt to bowl first

New Delhi: The Indian team will play the third and final match of the series against England in a decisive match in Pune on Sunday. After the crushing defeat in the second ODI on Friday, there is the possibility of change in the playing eleven of the Indian team has increased. Batting first, India had scored a score of 336 but the team could not defend it due to poor bowling.

Virat Kohli said in a statement, “I would’ve bowled first again, but it seems like the toss is completely out of my control right now. It’s a hard pitch and has some grass covering. We’ve introspected and identified a few areas that we need to improve on, put up 20-30 more runs with the bat and put up a better show with the ball. Our best cricket has come out when our backs have been against the wall – Test series, after being one down and the same in T20s, after being 1-2 down. We have to be at our best today to win the decider. We have a tactical change: Natarajan comes in for Kuldeep Yadav.

When England lost the first ODI earlier in the week, they edged one step closer to heading home without having anything to show for from the long draining India tour. Five days after that batting collapse, the visitors have given themselves the best chance of finishing the tour in the same vein they started in Chennai.

Having lost the Test series and the T20I series that followed suit, the world champions will be pretty pleased if they can come out on top at least in the ODI leg of the tour, especially taking into account the absence of Jofra Archer, Joe Root and Eoin Morgan”.
