New Delhi: The play resumed after being interrupted for four-hour in the wake of heavy rains that thrashed the Sydney Cricket Ground on Thursday on the opening day of the third test being played between India and Australia. For India, Rohit Sharma replaced Mayank Agarwal while Navdeep Saini makes his Test debut, replacing the injured Umesh Yadav. Meanwhile, Meanwhile, Will Pucovski, too, made his debut for Australia and David Warner replaced opener Joe Burns.
The series is currently levelled at 1-1 with Australia winning the first match while India clinching the victory in the second match of the four-match series.
Australia lost returning opener David Warner, who came back from groin injury, in the first session. He was caught behind the slips by Cheteshwar Pujara off the bowling of Mohammed Siraj. Pucovski and Labuschagne kept the game steady and developed a much needy partnership of 50 runs.
