ICC Men’s ODI Team Rankings: New Zealand replace England as no. 1, India drop to third



New Delhi: The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Monday, has released updated team ODI rankings. In the latest rankings, the New Zealand team has defeated World Champion England. Kiwis has now become the number 1 team in the world.

However, England consolidated their position at the top of the T20 International table after the annual update on Monday. These updates demolish the 2017-18 results.

The New Zealand team, which defeated Bangladesh 3–0 in the ODI series previous year, has jumped two slots in the ICC Men’s ODI Team Rankings. Even after winning the World Cup in 2019, the England team has slipped from first place.

In the last 12 months, England have suffered a 2–1 series defeat against Australia and India as well as a one-day defeat from Ireland. The latest update has been done at the rate of 100 percent of all the matches played since May 2020 and 50 percent of matches played in the last two years.

Australia are second with 118 points, while India and England are on 115, the former ahead on decimal points. While the West Indies have overtaken Sri Lanka to ninth position.

England remain number 1 ranked in the ICC Men’s T20I Team Rankings, extending their lead over India to five points. In the last 12 month period, they drew a three-match series against Pakistan 1-1, defeated Australia 2-1 and South Africa 3-0 and lost series to India 2-3.

New Zealand have also climbed up in the T20I rankings from fifth to third after series wins over the West Indies, Pakistan, Australia and Bangladesh. Australia have lose two position from third to fifth.
