Haryana School Reopening: Govt to open schools for students from class 9 to 12 from June 1

New Delhi: The Haryana government has decided to open schools located in the state from 1 June 2021. The state government has allowed schools to be opened for students of classes 9 to 12. Earlier, the Haryana government had declared the summer vacation as a pre-determined period due to the Covid-19 pandemic, which will now remain till May 31, 2021. However, the state government has also issued the guidelines and standard operating procedures (SOPs) required to open schools from June 1, which will be mandatory for all schools, teaching, and non-teaching staff.

From June 2021, the Haryana Directorate of Education has sent all the district offices for the opening of the schools as well as details of infrastructure including benches, rooms, etc. details in the schools located in their area. Several districts of the state are witnessing the impact of the Corona pandemic and decrease in cases of infection, due to which the Education Department has ordered the schools to be opened. However, as per the directives issued by the directorate, the same student will have to sit on a bench in schools.

According to media reports published based on the information received by the education officer of Kurukshetra district, “A link to a Google form was released two months ago by the directorate to ensure adherence to government directives. Through this form, the details of the filled by the principal of 116 schools in the district were received directly by the Directorate. Also, all the necessary decisions were taken immediately and there was no interference in the decision of the district offices. ”

As per the instructions of the government, schools have to ensure the adherence of rules like social distancing, use of masks and sanitizers along seating the same student on a bench.
