Happy birthday Imran Khan: When the actor opened up about nepotism and Bollywood parties

New Delhi: Imran Khan made his debut in 2008 with romantic comedy Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, a film which continues to drive the Indian youth crazy, even a decade later. Today, Imran turns one year older and to mark the day, we have taken it up to us to provide you some unknown facts about the actor.

Well, with the choice of his youth-centric films such as Delhi Belly and Ek Main Aur Ek Tu, Imran managed to amass a significant fan following. However, he suddenly disappeared from the public eye, leaving hundreds of thousands fans heartbroken. He was last seen in Katti Batti in 2015 along with Kangana Ranaut, Mithila Palkar, Suparna Marwah, Vivan Bhatena in pivotal roles.

On this special day, Let’s take a look on his 2014 Reddit Ask Me Anything session, where he gave many of his opinions for the nepotism and gave a clue of quitting the acting.

Well according to Hindustan Times, when one of the Reddit users asked him about considering himself an ‘insider’ in the industry or not; he answered, “My family has always been on the fringes of the industry. You might find it hard to believe now, but there was a time when Aamir (uncle) was seen as a maverick outsider who had all these ridiculous notions of ‘bound scripts’ and ‘only shooting one film at a time.”

He added,  “I like my quiet, peaceful life, I like my old friends, I like my cats and dogs… Ideally, I’d just make movies and skip the rest of the media circus.”

When someone asked him how it feels to see himself on the TV or social media, he answered, “I don’t watch TV… I’ve worked hard to avoid living in the ‘Bollywood Bubble’, eating, breathing and living movies. It can get very suffocating.”

When He was asked about the B-parties he said,  “People drink, dance, stand in corners and bitch about people they dislike, there are drunken hookups and fights, and people keep going to the bathroom, even if they don’t have to pee.”

If we see factually, Imran has been a part of the Nepotism lot as he is the nephew of superstar Aamir Khan and director-producer Mansoor Ali Khan. However, with the unique choice of his films, the actor proved his mettle and we can’t do anything but hope that he makes a return on the silver screen and even if he doesn’t, we cherish him for the films he has given us in his short career in Bollywood.
