GST hike in tax on hotel rooms

Apart from this, GST will be levied at the rate of 12 percent on hotel rooms renting less than Rs 1,000 per day. No tax is levied on it as of now. Similarly, 18 per cent GST will be levied on Tetra Pack and checks issued by the bank and 12 per cent GST on maps and charts including atlas.
