Gold slumps by more than Rs 2,000: Check gold and silver rates in your city

New Delhi (Anish Yande): Gold and silver rates declined significantly on the weekend. On Friday, the gold prices declined by 4%. There was a decline in gold prices by around Rs 2000 for 22 carat gold of 10 gram. In global markets, the prices for spot gold were reduced to $1,833.83 per ounce. The gold prices declined by 4% in these markets. 

Prices of Gold and silver in global markets:

In the US, Democrats, due to their recent victories in Georgia, are set to gain the majority in Senate. The dollar was strengthened with the prospects of more stimulus measures.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange of India (MCX), the gold futures in February, are recorded at a decline of Rs 2080. The MCX gold futures fell by 4.10%. The silver futures on the MCX fell by more than Rs 6,000 on Friday. The silver futures closed at Rs 63,850 per kg or 8.8%.

The global gold prices declined by 4% as well. The gold prices declined to  $1,833.83 per ounce with an increase in US Treasury yields. The strengthened dollar led to a decline in gold prices.

Gold and Silver prices of India:

The gold prices are recorded in India at Rs 49,830 for 10 grams of 22-carat gold. The gold prices for 10 grams of 24-carat gold is recorded at Rs 50,830.

The gold prices in Chennai are at Rs 47,540 for 10 grams of 22-carat gold. The prices of gold in Chennai are at Rs 51,860 for 10 grams of 24-carat gold. 

The gold prices in cities such as Vishakapatnam, Mangalore, and Bhubaneshwar are recorded at Rs 47,510 for 10 grams of 22-carat gold. The gold prices in these cities for 24-carat gold in 10 grams are at Rs 51,810.

The silver prices in India for 1 kilogram are at Rs 63,900. The silver prices fell by Rs 6,000 in India. The silver prices in Chennai for 1 kilogram are at Rs 73,100 per 1 kg.

The gold prices in Chandigarh are stated at Rs 50,240 for 10 grams of 22-carat gold. The gold prices in the city are recorded at Rs 54,300 for 10 grams of 24-carat gold.
