New Delhi: There was widespread all over Delhi during the tractor parade by farmers on the occasion of Republic Day.
Protesters broke police barricades and clashed with the Delhi Police, leaving many policemen injured.
More than 300 policemen were injured in the violence. The Delhi Police have registered 22 FIRs over the tractor parade violence.
The protesting farmers also stormed the Red Fort and hoisted their flag atop the historic monument. They also tried to run over Delhi Police personnel with their tractors.
The videos of these regrettable incidents have gone viral on social media.
The families of Delhi Police personnel will protest against farmers at Shaheedi Park in the ITO area today and demand action against them for the violence in the national capital during the tractor parade on Republic Day.
Former Delhi Police personnel will also be involved in this protest and other policemen who are on duty have also been requested to join. It will be a silent protest and around 1500 people will stage a peaceful protest against the farmers.
According to Delhi Police sources, the process of registering of FIRs had started during the tractor parade violence at various places in the national capital in which over 300 Delhi Police personnel were injured.
