Earthquake rattles Andaman and Nicobar, no casualties reported

Andaman and Nicobar Earthquake: The Andaman and Nicobar Islands were shaken by the tremors of an earthquake in the early hours of Tuesday. The magnitude of the earthquake was measured at 5.0 on the Richter scale.

According to the National Center for Seismology, the tremors were felt in the islands at around 5:57 am today.

The National Center for Seismology said the epicenter of the quake was 215 km ESE from Port Blair. There is no report of any loss of life or property due to the earthquake in Andaman and Nicobar.

A low-intensity earthquake of 3.2 magnitude struck Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district on Monday, but no damage was reported, officials said.

Officials said the earthquake hit the Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir at 12.12 pm. He said that its epicenter was at 33.12 degree north latitude and 75.55 degree east longitude at a depth of 5 km.
