Delhi on Wednesday reported 3,846 new coronavirus cases, the lowest single-day spike since April 5, as the national capital’s more virulent wave of infections showed signs of receding.
At 235, the city’s daily death count has also dropped. The national capital had been reporting over 300 deaths for several days. Today’s death count figure is the lowest since April 18, when it had reported 161 deaths.
As the Covid surge ravaged the country, causing deaths and overwhelming health infrastructures, Delhi’s positivity rate had shot up. It had consistently recorded over 25 per cent positivity last month. Its highest positivity figure was over 35 per cent. In a massive relief, the positivity rate in the last 24 hours was 5.78 per cent, lowest since April 6.
