Delhi MLAs take to streets, make THIS appeal to people

Gopal Rai said that the councilors of Delhi will run a public awareness campaign on Barahakhamba Road on October 25. The Kejriwal government is trying to get the whole of Delhi to work together to reduce pollution inside Delhi.

New Delhi: Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai along with AAP MLAs today launched an awareness campaign on Chandagi Ram Akhara Red Light on Car Off. 

Gopal Rai said that the councilors of Delhi will run a public awareness campaign on Barahakhamba Road on October 25. The Kejriwal government is trying to get the whole of Delhi to work together to reduce pollution inside Delhi.

He said that the issue of straw burning incidents was raised before the central and state governments. If the solution is sprayed responsibly, the farmer does not burn the straw

Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai visited Chandagi Ram Akhara Red Light with MLAs. Under the Red Light on Car of Campaign, together with the MLAs, he made the people aware. 

During this, he said that the level of pollution was reduced due to rains, as the burning of agricultural waste around had stopped. Now the incidence of straw burning will increase due to sun exposure. 

“Definitely the burning of straw and other agricultural waste will have an effect on Delhi,” he said.

“Our attempt is to make the people aware to prevent the pollution that is created inside Delhi. This public participation campaign is going on under the leadership of CM Arvind Kejriwal. We are pushing this forward. The MLAs of Delhi have gathered here to increase awareness among the people,” he added.

After this, now on October 25, the councilors of Delhi will run a public awareness campaign at Barahkhamba Road. 

“We try to make the whole of Delhi work together to reduce the pollution inside Delhi. Aam Aadmi Party  (AAP) MLAs are present here, but MLAs from other parties have not come. Information was given to all. The government is emphasizing on public participation and other campaigns including anti-dust campaign. Increase the share of people in it and reduce the pollution of your share all together. Therefore, we will take this campaign forward on October 25 together with the counselors,” he said.

He informed that a joint meeting will be held tomorrow with all SDMs and DPCCs of Delhi. Take this campaign down to the mohalla level. We will run this campaign on a large scale inside Delhi by making an action plan based on the decision in the meeting tomorrow.

“We have been working since October 7 under the anti-dust campaign. We will do everything we can to reduce the pollution of Delhi. There is an appeal to the central government to talk to the states and stop burning straw immediately. Otherwise, despite the hard work of the people of Delhi, they will have to face pollution due to the burning of agricultural waste,” he said.
