Delhi daily COVID-19 count breaches 3,000-mark, positivity rate at 4.59%

New Delhi: Coronavirus cases are on rise in the national capital. In the last 24 hours, Delhi reported 3,194 cases of COVID-19, up 17.59 per cent from the previous day, the government health bulletin reported on Sunday evening.

With the new cases, Delhi’s COVID-19 tally has risen to 8,397.

On Saturday, the Delhi Health Department said the national capital had reported 2,716 new cases of COVID-19.

The Delhi State Health bulletin informed that COVID-19 related deaths in Delhi have increased to 25,109 after one person died of the virus in the last 24 hours.

Delhi’s positivity rate stands at 4.59 per cent. As many as 1,156 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours in the national capital.

Currently, 307 COVID-19 infected patients are admitted in hospitals. Of these 59 are COVID “suspect” patients, 10 are COVID positive patients from airport.

In Delhi, four “severe” COVID-19 patients are on ventilator support, 94 “moderate” patients are on oxygen support.

In the last 24 hours, 69,650 samples were tested for COVID-19 in the national capital.

As many as 34,922 people in Delhi got their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine in the last 24 hours; while, 48,945 received second dose of the vaccine.

As per the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), Delhi is among the top two states/UTs having reported maximum number of Omicron cases. So far, 351 cases of Omicron have been reported in the capital of which only 57 people have recovered.
