DDLJ clocks 26; Kajol relives Simran moments

Kajol has shared the iconic dialogue scene from the film featuring late actor Amrish Puri and herself. She shared the scene wherein Simran’s father let her go with Raj after saying “Jaa Simran jaa, jee le apni zindagi”.

New Delhi: ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’ turned 26-year-old today. DDLJ is not just a film but an emotion for millennials who have watched the film, god knows how many times. In the history of Bollywood, DDLJ has become a milestone for other romance and drama films. On the occasion, Kajol, who played the starring role, has posted a video footage from the movie.

Kajol has shared the iconic dialogue scene from the film featuring late actor Amrish Puri and herself. She shared the scene wherein Simran’s father let her go with Raj after saying “Jaa Simran jaa, jee le apni zindagi”. “Simran caught the train 26 years back and we are still thanking everyone for all this love,” she captioned the video.

26 years on, DDLJ’s dialogues, mehendi songs, hopeless romance ideas and courage to get our love against all odds still remains inspirational among fans.

Besides SRK, Kajol and Amrish Puri, the movie also starred Farida Jalal, Anupam Kher, Mandira Bedi, Satish Shah, Himani Shivpuri among many others.

Written and directed by debutant Aditya Chopra, DDLJ shattered all box office records and is one of the biggest all-time blockbusters in the history of Hindi cinema.

It also went on to become the longest-running Hindi film of all time. DDLJ is also the winner of a record-breaking (at the time) 10 Filmfare Awards and the film literally changed the face of Bollywood globally.
