CWC asks Modi govt not to yield an inch of territory

New Delhi: The Congress Working Committee (CWC) requested the Narendra Modi authorities not to yield an inch of Indian territory to China and accused the PM of weakening India’s strategic positions together with his feedback. Leading the assault, Rahul Gandhi accused the PM of having “destroyed our position and betrayed our Army”.

Party chief Sonia Gandhi blamed the Centre for the disaster on China border, financial and Covid fronts. The CWC has additionally determined to launch a nationwide agitation towards the serial hike of petrol and diesel costs and towards the federal government insurance policies which have “caused economic hardship to the people”.

While paying tributes to slain Indian troopers, standing by the Army and lengthening solidarity with the federal government in serving to mission a united nation, the CWC mentioned: “For China to make audacious claims over our territory, including the Galwan Valley, by resorting to unilateral and unprovoked acts of transgression and incursion, simply cannot be tolerated or accepted. The central government is duty bound to protect every inch of our territory and repulse every intrusion firmly and decisively.”

Maintaining that “the facts emerging now are in direct contrast to the narrative that the government is seeking to propagate to the people”, the CWC requested: “On how many occasions have transgressions been committed or attempted by the Chinese forces… since April-May 2020? Why did the prime minister state at the all-party meeting that ‘no one has intruded into our territory’? Why were these words deleted by the PMO from its official statement of June 19, 2020…? Why was the PMO then forced to give an explanation? Why did the prime minister contradict the earlier statements of his own defence minister and the external affairs minister on Chinese incursions?”

In his intervention, Rahul Gandhi launched a direct assault on PM Modi: “China has brazenly occupied our territory. The PM has destroyed our position and betrayed our Army by accepting their position that they occupied no Indian land. The Chinese can’t be permitted to get away with this unacceptable usurpation of our land. Everything needs to be done to ensure that the sacrifice of our martyrs is not in vain. One reason why China has acted is a complete and total failure of foreign policy. The established institutional structure of diplomacy has been demolished by the PM.”
