Pallavi Jha, New Delhi: The war against the coronavirus pandemic is in full swing across the country.
In the midst of good news on the coronavirus vaccine, today once again a dry run will be conducted throughout the country. Earlier on January 5, the preparations for the distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine was carried out in many states.
Before the run-up to be held today, Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan held a meeting with health ministers of all the states and union territories and took stock of the preparations.
Let me tell you that this will be the third time that a dry run to check the distribution system of the coronavirus vaccine is being carried out. On January 2, a dry run was carrried in 4 states in the first phase and in the second phase on January 5 in the entire country. There were many flaws in both these dry runs, which the authorities will now try to rectify on January 8.
This dry run will take place in all other states except Uttar Pradesh (UP) and Haryana. Uttar Pradesh (UP) has already carried out a dry run in all districts of the state on January 5. During the dry run to be held in the country on January 8, the COVID-19 vaccine will be given to Corona Warriors along with vaccination of the workers health centers in the districts.
The purpose of this dry run is to test the mechanisms laid down for the COVID-19 vaccination roll-out in the health system and to assess the operationalization of the use of Co-Win application for planning, implementation and reporting in the block and district levels.
If all goes well, then the vaccination campaign of coronavirus vaccine can start in the country from January 14 on Makar Sankranti. In the first phase it will be given to the Corona Warriors. In the second phase it will be available to the common people.
