COVID-19: India’s tally reaches 2,16,919 with record spike of 9,304 cases; death toll 6,075 – News 24

New Delhi: Coronavirus instances in India noticed a record single-day soar of 9,304 instances on Thursday pushing the entire tally to 2,16,919, whereas the death toll climbed to six,075 with 260 new fatalities, in line with the Union well being ministry.

The death toll has reached 53 in Karnataka, 47 in Punjab, 34 in Jammu and Kashmir, 25 in Bihar, 23 in Haryana, 11 in Kerala, eight in Uttarakhand and 7 in Odisha.

Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh and Jharkhand have registered 5 COVID-19 deaths every, Assam has recorded 4 deaths whereas Chhattisgarh has reported two deaths to this point. Meghalaya and Ladakh have reported one COVID-19 fatality every.

On its web site, the ministry mentioned, “7,483 cases are being reassigned to states. Our figures are being reconciled with the ICMR.” State-wise distribution is topic to additional verification and reconciliation, it added.
