Coronavirus update: India’s cumulative COVID-19 vaccination coverage surpasses 120.27 crore

On Thursday, 26,28,967 people received their first dose, while 57,59,857 got their second dose of COVID-19 vaccine.

New Delhi: Under the nationwide vaccination drive, India continues to inoculate its population against COVID-19. The country’s cumulative vaccination coverage has exceeded 120.27 crore. 

So far, 1,20,27,03,659 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in the country. In the last 24 hours, 83,88,824 vaccine doses were administered. 

On Thursday, 26,28,967 people received their first dose, while 57,59,857 got their second dose of COVID-19 vaccine.

So far, a total of 77,64,92,810 people have got their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 42,62,10,849 have received both the doses.

India’s vaccination drive has been ramped up through availability of more vaccines, advance visibility of vaccine availability to States and Union Territories for enabling better planning by them, and streamlining the vaccine supply chain.

So far, more than 133 crore (1,33,44,55,000) vaccine doses have been provided to States and Union Territories through Government of India (free of cost channel) and through direct state procurement category.

Over 22.70 crore (22,70,43,626) balance and unutilised COVID-19 Vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs to be administered.
