Coronavirus update: India’s cumulative COVID-19 vaccination coverage surpasses 117.63 crore

According to MoHFW, India administered 71,92,154 vaccine doses on Monday.

New Delhi: Under the nationwide vaccination drive, India continues to administer COVID-19 jabs to its population, to restrict the spread of coronavirus. The country’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 117.63 crore.

The country, so far, has administered 1,17,63,73,499 vaccine doses. Of this, 76,83,97,360 were first dose, while 40,79,76,139 were second dose. 

According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), on Monday, India administered 71,92,154 vaccine doses. Of this, 23,22,747 people received their first dose, while 48,69,407 got their second dose.

The country’s vaccination drive has been increased through availability of more vaccines, advance visibility of vaccine availability to States and Union Territories for enabling better planning by them, and streamlining the vaccine supply chain.

Till date, over 131 crore (1,31,45,03,460) vaccine doses have been provided to States and Union Territories through Government of India (free of cost channel) and through direct state procurement category.

Over 21.92 crore (21,92,56,121) balance and unutilised COVID-19 Vaccine doses are still available with the states and Union Territories to be administered.
