Puducherry: The Congress government has collapsed during the confidence vote in the Puducherry Assembly.

Puducherry Chief Minister Narayanasamy has submitted his resignation to the Lieutenant Governor. After the resignation of six MLAs, Narayanasamy’s government became a minority. Two legislators resigned on Sunday. After this, the political crisis deepened here.

Today, Puducherry Chief Minister Narayanasamy walked out of the assembly along with the supporting legislators. He resigned after meeting with the Lieutenant Governor.

Earlier in the Assembly, Puducherry CM V. Narayanasamy said, “We formed the government with the support of DMK and Independent MLAs.” After that, we faced various elections. We have won all the by-elections. It is clear that the people of Puducherry trust us. ”

Taking a dig at former LG Kiran Bedi, he said, “Bedi and the central government clashed with the opposition and tried to topple the government.” As soon as our MLAs united, we were able to get the last 5 years. The Center has betrayed the people of Puducherry. ”

“In Tamil Nadu and Puducherry we follow a two-language system but the BJP is forcibly trying to implement Hindi. Legislators should remain loyal to the party. The MLAs who resign will not be able to face the people as people will call them opportunists,” Narayanasamy said in the Puducherry legislative assembly.

The Congress Party had shown the exit route to one of its MLAs last year. The 33-member Puducherry assembly has 30 elected seats and three are nominated members of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The Congress currently has nine MLAs. These include Puducherry assembly speaker SP Sivakolundi.
