Taipei: China is threatening Taiwan with regular military maneuvers following the ever-increasing proximity of the tiny island nation with the US.

The People’s Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) of China has constantly threatened Taiwan by sending its warplanes to violate the air space of the island nation.

The Taiwan Air Force Command has reported that two Chinese anti-submarine aircraft entered Taiwan’s Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ) on two separate occasions on Tuesday (September 29).

The Ministry of National Defense (MND) released this information on the real-time update platform on its website. The People’s Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) by Shanxi Y-8 anti-submarine planes flew twice in the southwest corner of Taiwan’s ADIZ on Tuesday.

In response, the Taiwanese air force sent fighter jets and issued a radio warning asking them to return. Taiwan also deployed air defense missile systems to monitor China’s incursions. This is the 16th time that Chinese aircraft have entered ADIZ since September 16.

On September 16, the PLAAF had sent Y-8 aircraft southwest of Taiwan’s ADIZ. Two Chinese aircraft entered the region two days later on 18 September, crossing the midline in the Taiwan Strait.

On September 19, 19 Chinese aircraft had entered the ADIZ from the northwest and southwest, while on 20 September, two Y-8s infiltrated the ADIZ off the southwestern coast. On 21 September, two more Y-8 aircraft also arrived in the southwest corner of ADIZ, followed by another two Y-8s on 22 September.

Two more Y-8 anti-submarine aircraft entered ADIZ on 23 September, followed by a Y-8 aircraft on September 24.
