Cancer prevention: Foods that help in lowering the risk of cancer

NEW DELHI (DIVYA SAINI): Cancer prevention diet is important to reduce the risk of cancer. According to a study, if you eat at least five servings of foods daily try to eat the right amount of food to stay have a healthy body. You need to add certain foods that not only will help you prevent cancer but many diseases too.

However, selecting Anti-cancer foods can’t guarantee prevention of cancer, but good choices of foods may help to reduce the risk. Here are some anti- cancer foods you must add in your diet:

Eat healthy fruits and vegetables

Fruits and vegetables are rich in vitamins and nutrients which help to reduce the risk of cancer. Consuming processed or sugary foods may increase the risk of cancer so try adding fruits and vegetables for snacks. Some plant based foods that will help you fight cancer are fruits and vegetables, whole grains, legumes, and nuts. People should replace olive oil with butter and fish instead of red meat.

Green tea 

Green tea is rich in antioxidants which is an important requirement of an anti-cancer diet. Green tea, not only helps in preventing food but also helps in preventing liver, breast, pancreatic, lung, esophageal, and skin cancer. Green tea has non toxic content which helps to cure tumor cells.

Eat more tomatoes 

Tomatoes has antioxidant lycopene, which is considered more powerful than beta-carotene, alpha-carotene, and vitamin E. Lycopene helps in fighting against is a cancer of prostate and lungs. Make sure to cook the tomatoes, as this method helps to release the lycopene which makes it available to your body.

Use olive oil 

Olive oil has monounsaturated fat which is used in cooking as well as salad. Olive oil is considered the  cancer-fighting food. Adding Olive oil in the diet helps to reduce the risk of Breast cancer.

Have garlic and onions  

Garlic and onions helps to block the formation of nitrosamines, powerful carcinogens which targets the cells of colon, liver, and breasts.
