Kolkata: In West Bengal, campaigning for the second phase will stop at 5 pm today, but before that BJP has put all its strength towards winning Nandigram.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah and actor Mithun Chakraborty will stage a roadshow for BJP leader Shuvendu Adhikari, who is pitted against West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

The Nandigram seat in Purva Medinipur district has become quite high-profile, as West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee is also contesting from here against Shuvendu who has joined the BJP after leaving the TMC. However, Shuvendu Adhikari has vowed to defeat the Trinamool Congress supremo by more than 50,000 votes.

Just two days before the second phase of the West Bengal Election 2021, the BJP has deputed Amit Shah, Mithun Chakraborty and other leaders to lead the election campaign in Nandigram. Meanwhile, Mamata Banerjee reached the assembly constituency on March 28 and will remain there till the end of voting.

A large number of fans of veteran Bollywood star Mithun Chakraborty in West Bengal will also hold a roadshow in Nandigram before the voting.

The second phase of the West Bengal Election 2021 will be held on April 1.

The high-voltage election campaign saw bitter rivalry between TMC chief Mamata Banerjee and BJP leader Shuvendu Adhikari on the day of Holi.
