This decision was anticipated for quite some time and it has also seen clashes between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Bhartiya Janta Party regarding this issue. The date of the MCD elections had been postponed and the AAP has blamed the BJP citing their fear of the Aam Aadmi Party. However, BJP has maintained that this was a long overdue decision which has finally come into fruition.
