New Delhi: The BCCI has announced the Team India playing XI for the World Test Championship final against New Zealand to be held at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton, England from Friday.
Virat Kohli (captain), Ajinkya Rahane (vice captain), Rohit Sharma, S Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara, Rishabh Pant, R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Jasprit Bumrah, Ishant Sharma and Mohammed Shami have been included in the playing XI.
It was believed that Mohammad Siraj can get a place in the playing XI for this important match, but he has been kept away from it. At the same time, Hanuma Vihari, Wriddhiman Saha and Umesh Yadav have also not got a place in the team.
Irfan Pathan gave this reason
Earlier, former India pacer Irfan Pathan picked his playing XI, from which fast bowler Mohammad Siraj was left out.
“My playing XI includes Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane, Hanuma Vihari, Rishabh Pant, R Ashwin Mohammed Shami, Ishant Sharma & Jasprit Bumrah,” Irfan tweeted.
Irfan Pathan has kept Jadeja and Siraj out his playing XI.
“I am keen to go with Siraj but prefer Ishant’s experience. It is difficult to leave Jaddu but I want to give priority to pure batsman in Vihari,” he said.
