Asus ZenFone 8 launch postponed in India: Check all details here

New Delhi (Anish Yande): Asus ZenFone 8 would be the latest flagship to be launched by the Taiwanese smartphone maker. The Asus flagship is set to be launched globally on May 12. Before the launch, Asus India has stated that it would be delaying the launch of the Asus ZenFone 8 series in the country. 

Business Head of Asus India, Dinesh Sharma, announced the deferring of the launch on Twitter.  The decision from Asus India comes as Covid-19 cases surge in India during the second wave of the pandemic.  Realme also delayed a smartphone launch event that was to be held on May 4. 

Expected specs and features of Asus Zenfone 8:

Asus Zenfone 8 could feature a 5.92-inch full HD+ Samsung E4 AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. The display of the Asus device comes with an aspect ratio of 20:9 and a pixel density of 446 ppi. Asus Zenfone 8 could come with and a 120Hz refresh rate and Zenfone comes with a Gorilla Glass Victus protection

The Asus device is equipped with a triple rear camera setup which comes with a primary sensor of 64-megapixels Sony IMX686 sensor. The triple rear camera setup of the Asus device also comes with a 12-megapixel secondary sensor with an f/2.2 wide-angle lens. The rear camera setup comes with support for 8K video recording and 4K slow-mo at 12fps.

At the front, Asus Zenfone 8 could feature a 12-megapixel sensor at the front with an f/2.0 lens.

Zenfone 8 is expected to be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor paired with an Adreno 620 GPU.

The Zenfone device is equipped with a 4,000mAh battery with fast charging support of 30W. Asus Zenfone 8 runs on ZenUI 8 based on Android 11 OS, out-of-the-box.

Connectivity features of the Asus Zenfone 8 include 5G, 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.1, Wi-Fi, GPS/ A-GPS, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port.
