Assembly Elections 2022 Analysis: Elections for all 70 assembly seats of Uttarakhand took place on February 14. Although the results of elections in all the five states will be released on March 10, with the completion of the seventh and final phase elections in Uttar Pradesh, News24 and Today’s Chanakya have released the most accurate analysis. According to the analysis by News24 and Today’s Chanakya, the BJP seems set to regain power in Uttarakhand.
According to the analysis of News24-Today’s Chanakya, 52 percent of voters believe that there should be no change in power in the state while 41 percent are rooting for change. The state currently has a BJP government under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.
According to News24-Today’s Chanakya, party and candidate, development, corruption, local issues and other factors influenced the voters’ decisions. Around 34 percent voted keeping the party and the candidate in mind while 22 percent voters cast their vote on the basis of development, 13 percent on corruption and 18 percent on local issues. Only 7 percent of voters said that their concern was something else other than the above issues.
The outcome of an election is dependent to some extent on caste equations. That is why News24-Today’s Chanakya went among the Brahmin society and found out which party they voted for the most this time. It came to the fore that 53 percent of Brahmins voted for the BJP and 24 percent went with the Congress.
Among the Scheduled Castes, the BJP got 42 percent votes and the Congress 32 percent, while 6 percent among Muslim voters chose the BJP and 71 percent for the Congress.
Among the Rajputs, BJP got 50 percent and Congress 28 percent votes in the state.
News24-Today’s Chanakya went out among every section of the society and in the end, it became clear as to which party has been chosen by the people in the state. In this case, in these assembly elections, BJP is expected to win 43 seats, Congress 24 and other parties will win 3 seats.
A total of 632 candidates are trying their luck in the electoral fray for all the 70 seats in Uttarakhand. There was a lot of enthusiasm among the people regarding the election. More than 62 percent of voters of the state exercised their franchise.
