Arunachal Pradesh CM announces reduction of State VAT on petrol, diesel: Check new price here

The Central government has, on Wednesday, slashed the price of petrol by Rs. 5 and diesel by Rs. 10 by reducing the excise duty levied on petroleum products.

New Delhi: Day after the Central government cut excise duty on petrol and diesel, Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu, on Thursday, announced the reduction of State VAT on petrol to 14.5 per cent from existing 20 per cent to and diesel to 7 per cent from from 12.5 per cent.

The Chief Minister further said that petrol in the state can be purchased at Rs. 91.97 per liter and diesel at Rs. 79.83 per liter from midnight of November 5.

After the relief provided by both the Centre and the state, consumers in Arunachal will benefit Rs. 10.20 per liter in petrol and Rs. 15.22 per liter in diesel.

According to reports, the lowering in Central Excise Duty on petrol and diesel is the highest-ever reduction in excise duty.
