New Delhi: Veteran Bollywood star Anupam Kher on Tuesday received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine. He received the vaccine at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital. The 66-year-old actor took to Twitter and shared a video of him receiving the first jab of the vaccine. Along with the video he tweeted “Got my #COVID-19 first dose vaccination! Thank you all the doctors, medical staff, scientist and Government of India for making it possible. India Rocks. Jai Ho,”. He also tagged the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) and Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan. In the video, before his inoculation, Anupam Kher can be seen chanting ‘Om Namah Shivay’, after which the nurse injects the COVID-19 vaccine in his arm. Taken aback by how quick and painless the process was, the Bollywood actor can be seen saying, “Veronica Ji it’s done? That was fantastic! You’re a magician, Jai ho!”
Later he also shared a video of her mother Dulari Kher on Instagram, in which she is seen receiving the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine. “Dulari gets vaccination ,This long video of Mom getting vaccination has some hilarious moments. Her opening line मै नहीं डरती हूँ! Then she tells #DrShikhaSingh (Moms fan) that she is not scared. And informs her about her previous serious injuries. In between tells me तू चुप करेगा? Laughs hysterically when she realises that the vaccination got over before she realised it. Starts walking off without me. She really is a #RockStar. Touch wood. Before Anupam, celebrities including Jeetendra, Hema Malini, Saif Ali Khan and Satish Shah also received the first dose of coronavirus vaccine. Veteran South Indian actor turned politician Kamal Haasan also received his first dose of vaccination While sharing a picture of receiving his first jab at the hospital, the 66-year-old actor took to Twitter and wrote, “Sri Ramachandra Hospital I got vaccinated. Everyone who cares not just about themselves but also about others should get the vaccination immediately. Today immunization of body, next month vaccination against corruption. Get ready (sic).”
The second phase of the COVID-19 vaccination drive, which began on March 1 in India, witnessed a good turnout. This phase is for people aged 60 and above, and those in the 45-59 age bracket with comorbidities. Including the Prime Minister of India, Mr Narendra Modi. Amit Shah, S Jaishankar, CM Nitish Kumar, NCP Chief Sharad Pawar, and Naveen Patnaik have also taken their first shot of the COVID-19 vaccine.
