Prashant Dev, New Delhi: In the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, there is good news for devotees of Lord Shiva who aspire to go on the Amarnath Yatra.
This year, the Amarnath pilgrimage will start from June 28 to August 22. This means that this year Amarnath Yatra will last for a total of 56 days. Along with this, the Amarnath Yatra Shrine Board has also announced the date of registration for the pilgrimage. Devotees will be able to register from April 14.
The Amarnath Yatra is organized every year. But due to the global coronavirus pandemic, the Amarnath Yatra had to be canceled last year. The Amarnath Yatra had to be halted in 2019 as well due to the revocation of Articles 370 and 35-A in Jammu and Kashmir on August 5 and the dividing of the former state into two union territories.
The Jammu and Kashmir administration has started preparations for this year’s Amarnath Yatra. A meeting of the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board was held under the chairmanship of Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha.
Earlier, speculations were rife that the duration of the Shri Amarnath Yatra 2021 and the date of commencement could be announced before the Mahashivaratri festival. The reason was that since January 2021, the meetings of the Shrine Board were going on.
